Subject: Feature Request: Search Messages toolbar button or Search as a tab

Hello Thunderbird team,

I’ve been using Thunderbird for a long time and overall I appreciate the program. However, the Search Messages feature is more difficult to use than it needs to be.

Currently the only easy ways to open the full Search Messages window are:

• The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F
• The menu path Edit → Find → Search Messages

I would like to request one (or both) of the following improvements:

1. A dedicated Search Messages button that can be added to the main toolbar, or
2. The ability to open the Search Messages window as a regular tab (so it can stay open and be restored with other tabs).

The global search bar at the top is not accurate enough for multi-criteria searches (From + Subject + Body, etc.), so many of us rely on the full Search Messages window. Making it easier to access would be a big usability improvement.
