Firefox for Android (beta as well) forces landscape orientation when a video enters fullscreen, even when Android rotation is locked.

Older Firefox versions exposed the preference media.videocontrols.lock-video-orientation, allowing users to prevent that behavior in about:config.

Please restore this preference, or add a visible setting such as: “Do not change screen orientation in fullscreen video.”

This would allow portrait fullscreen video and respect the user’s Android orientation lock.

Yes please! 🙏 Just add a visible setting. The default can remain as-is. But people who are interested will find it.

Simple as that, yet so powerful.

I can't use Firefox right now, even tho I really like the android version compared to Chrome.

But when laying in bed, I can't have my phone turn. Everything becomes 90° tilted 😂

When I set my phone to no auto-rotate, that means no automatic rotation - period.
