I'm proud to use Firefox Nightly, but I hate how there has never been a moment for the past year that the application menu didn't have a green notification dot telling me to update the app. I update it like three times a day; I really think Firefox can wait until I close the program to update instead of bothering me 24/7.

Thank you! 🙂

I also want there to be a function to disable the green dot on the menu and the “update available” sign in the menu, it distracts me. I already open the browser 5 times a day, I don't mind updates being installed automatically, I just don't want to see that an update is available

Hello

From Firefox 63 https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/63.0/releasenotes
The option to Never check for updates was removed from about:preferences. You can use the DisableAppUpdate enterprise policy as a substitute.
DisableAppUpdate https://mozilla.github.io/policy-templates/#disableappupdate
From Thunderbird 68 https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/68.0/releasenotes
Added a policy engine that allows customized Thunderbird deployments in enterprise environments, using Windows Group Policy or a cross-platform JSON file.

Nightly users1.pngapp.update.suppressPrompts

Firefox https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/98.0a1/releasenotes 98.0a1
New Nightly-only setting: Show fewer update notification prompts. When the setting is enabled and Nightly is ready to restart to install updates, it will show a notification in the hamburger menu but not a popup notification. Additionally, if the user also has the Check for updates but let you choose to install them" setting enabled, the Update Available* notification will be shown in the hamburger menu but the popup notification will be suppressed for up to a week after the last successful update.
