Status: New idea

When I open a new tab and click on something I find interesting among the "Recommended Stories", the article often turns out to be blocked unless I pay to subscribe to the respective publication or website.  That makes it an ad and it should be labeled as such.

I strongly support this idea. Firefox should not recommend articles that are effectively inaccessible unless the user pays for a subscription.

Seeing an attractive headline and cover, clicking on it, and immediately being confronted with a paywall is frustrating and makes the recommendation useless.

Please add an option to exclude paywalled content — or at least clearly label it before the user clicks. A “Recommended Story” should be something the user can actually read, not a teaser for a subscription.

This should be an option, so the user can decide if they want to be presented with content recommendations that are paywalled or not.

I personally find it infuriating, but also respect that some people enjoy being pointed at content outside their regular routine.

Yeah, I think something should be done here: either put [PAID] at the start of an article headline, or maybe in the top-left of a news-story box, put a $ symbol or something?

I like to have the newsfeed on, so I can support Mozilla by clicking on a story, but far too-many are just paywalled, so it wastes my time.

Either they need to indicate in-advance which articles are paywalled, or for sites that have too-many articles behind one, give us an option to block individual news sources, not only categories of news.
