Currently, when browsing in Firefox, there is no easy way to open the current tab/page in a private window. As a result, users have to manually open a private window and then copy and paste the URL from the normal window to the private window.

This can be a time-consuming and tedious process, especially for users who frequently switch between normal and private browsing modes. It would be much more convenient if there were an option to open the current tab in a private window with just a few clicks.

I suggest adding a new option to the right-click menu that appears when users click the right mouse button (Mouse 2) on the current tab. This option would be called "Open in New Private Window" right under "Open in New Container Tab" and would immediately open the current page in a new private window.

This feature would greatly improve the browsing experience for Firefox users, and I believe it would be a valuable addition to the browser. Thank you for considering my request, and I look forward to seeing this feature implemented in a future update.

Sincerely,

i486

This could also be added to the Move Tab submenu, under Move to New Window.

Hi @i486 , agreed that it would fit nicely under the "Move tab" submenu.

Can you please say a little more about why you'd want to open first in normal windows and then in private windows? I wonder if it's about seeing the page in a non authenticated state or something else

Hello,

this is an example of why i would like to switch to "Private mode" after opening a tab: a cookie wall OR pay wall to access content

I would prefer to acces the site in private mode than accepting cookies.
