It'd be helpful to have a new tab button next to the address bar on mobile for easy access.

Currently, opening a new tab requires two clicks - one to open the tab window, and another on the "+" button to open the new tab. This also requires interaction with two different parts of the screen that are far apart from each other (top right vs bottom right), which is hard to do one-handed or in a hurry, especially on larger phones.

I'm a heavy tab user, and the option to have a "+" button directly next to the address bar would make it easier to open a new tab quickly.

This would be a really nice feature

A really desired feature that could be activated in settings. On a large tablet I use another browser and the only reason I avoid Firefox is the crippled tab management. A tab bar with a plus (add new tab) button would be a much much appreciated feature. This is present in all other major browsers - Opera, Chrome, Vivaldi, DuckDuckGo, Edge, etc.

It's crazy to me that I have to click twice to open a tab, none of the other mobile browsers require this. Please consider adding this feature!

Just switched to Firefox on Android today. I am shocked this isn't a feature. Please add it!

This is my main gripe with Firefox on Android. The "Home" button is totally useless for me, I do all my browsing in new tabs. I would be really glad if there was an option to swap that to a "New Tab" button.

All in all, I love the configurability of Firefox on my desktop Linux, and miss it on my phone.

Navigation is so bad on FF on Android. Really, we need to tap twice to open a new tab?

I think the problem with relying on upvotes to prioritise work like this, is that people will just move browsers.

I know this only has around 30 votes atm but it will be impacting way more people than that. It's an awful UI.

This definitely deserves an upvote. We could replace that Home button with a "New tab" button with a setting (or even an about:config setting if you don't feel too confident with it)
