Make Proton mail available on k9/thunderbird android. I know you can add proton mail to thunderbird desktop with their bridge but that isn't available on mobile. I think it's a great idea that the thunderbird team makes contact with the proton mail team to let proton mail be used in the coming thunderbird mobile app. I hope that the thunderbird team looks into this and succes with it so that people don't need to use k9/thunderbird and proton mail app anymore on mobile.

As there is no version of the proton mail bridge software for Android there can inherently can be no supports for Proton on Android either from k9 mail or any other mail program.  The bridge is an essential part of the paid package from Proton, so you might want to ask when they will be releasing Android support.

Indeed proton does not make the bridge available on mobile.

Even if it were possible for us to provide this, the effort would likely be great and the potential user group is very small. Therefore, we do not plan to provide this capability, but could accept a community contribution. There is also a pseudo workaround.

The more likely solution is to have proton offer the bridge on mobile through the lobbying effort of users, using the link Matt provided.
