With the version Firefox 109 release, you added this new button without the option to change its position or move into the overflow area. Please let use move it. I can remove/hide almost every other UI element in the browser, why not this?

Make the Extensions button on Firefox Nightly 110.0a1 movable in "Customize Toolbar"

Currently, when you go to the 'Customize Toolbar' page in the latest Nightly, everything can be moved around, except for the Extensions button. I love the new implementation that Extensions button opens as a popup similar to other browsers. In the current stable, it just opens the Firefox Extensions page which is just useless. Please make the Extensions button movable.

I would love to see this in the stable build.

I really don't like the new extensions button, it just clutters the browser, I want a minimal and easy to use UI. I thought I could at least move the button to the overflow menu, but no, it can't be moved or removed at all. This is extremely inconvenient. "Just let us choose what buttons are displayed or not.

Go to about:config and set extensions.unifiedExtensions.enabled to false to revert back to the overlay menu.

It doesn't make much sense that you have next to complete customization power over your toolbar except for this button. I suggest it be made removable like every other feature. Additionally, it shouldn't be default to appear on the toolbar.

about:config flags are not supported and may be removed at any time. Please do not suggest using them under feature requests in the future.

A recent update to Firefox has put a permanent, non-removable item for Add-Ons / Extensions in the toolbar.  Please allow this toolbar item to be removed.

Thanks!

The latest update has added the Extensions button to the Toolbar. This was completely unnecessary as this option was already available in the drop down menu to the side. As well as with the Keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+A). It is also not possible to remove this button from my toolbar with the Customize option for some reason. Even though I can easily remove every other option easily.

I agree. I'd prefer to move it to the overflow menu, have an option to disable it or relocate it on the toolbar.

Can we shorten the title to "Make the Extensions button movable in “Customize Toolbar”"?

This is fully applicable to yesterday's release of Firefox 109.

I have tried to edit my toolbar but that icon can't be moved, removed, or hidden and it's where my bookmarks icon usually is which is messing with my work flow a lot. I work very fast and have years of muscle memory of clicking the first icon at the top right to open bookmarks and now I keep opening extensions.

Just a note that a similar idea from last month already has 15 Kudos:

(Considering the number of comments on this idea, why doesn't it have more votes? Don't forget to click the "Thumbs up.")

The button is not going to go away, but there are proposals to allow it to be moved:

There is a temporary preference to move the overflowing add-ons from the Extensions button back to the overflow menu. See: https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/upgrading-to-beta-109-replaced-my-handy-overflow-menu-wit...
