Currently, there doesn't seem to be any way (short of perhaps messing with CSS stylesheets) to disable the new fox mascot/Kit everywhere in the browser UI.
The best I've been able to find is 1) an about:config setting (I think it was "security.certerrors.felt-privacy-v1" set to false?) that removed kit from the connection security popup (shield icon left of the urlbar) and 2) using about:config to force blank new tabs on Desktop. (But I'm still stuck with the fox background for new tabs on Mobile, despite my best efforts.)
But this still leaves the mascot/Kit appearing on connection error pages, and in multiple places through the settings pages (e.g. in the Default Browser section and the AI Controls section).
I enjoy using multiple Firefox themes throughout the year, including Halloween or horror themed ones. I also use a lot of business-like, office, or retro-styled ones, among others. For themes like these, the cutesy fox simply doesn't fit the vibe. No matter how much I may like a cute cartoony creature, that doesn't mean I want them edited into every Van Gogh painting and also the Amnesia water monster level, you know?
That's an exaggerated comparison, obviously. But nonetheless, this uncustomizable mascot is jarring in the context of a browser that otherwise allows a lot of aesthetic customization.
Additionally, if you ever try forks of Firefox (e.g. Zen Browser, Librewolf, Fennic, Ironfox, etc etc), you'll find that every single one of them also has the colorful Firefox mascot all over their UI, because they can't turn it off either. Surely this is a branding issue for both the forked browsers and for Mozilla?
