Pin Thunderbird Favourite Folders

Correct me if naïve or deluded, but the whole point of having "Favourite Folders" is that they are always on-screen and available to be selected quickly.

Why, then, does Thunderbird treat them just like the rest of the folders and cast them into oblivion when I scroll down my immense list of accounts, local folders, tags, ... ?

Have we not learned that calling something something does not make it what it is? Behaviour is everything.

Microsoft sticks favourite folders to the top and they stay there. (Same with certain messages but that'd be a luxury in Thunderbird, given the adequacy of tagging functionality.) I can scroll down my Outlook folders at whim, but the favourite ones are still there at the top, unmoved, useful, and available to be selected.

Really, this isn't hard stuff to think about, is it? You know, from the practical User Experience perspective?

I don't want a new calendar event dialogue box with every single hour in a day and every minute in an hour displayed in boxes for me to scan left and right and up and down until I have a seizure rather than just simply type the number or have a scrollable drop-down or something actually usable. I just want sticky favourite folders. And a calendar that displays all my future events. How hard can it be?

It seems to me that the Thunderbird development community is lacking a little... benevolent direction.

Click the ... menu next to the New Message button > Folder Modes > check Favorite Folders. They will appear all together on the Folder Pane. You can move them up using the dot-stack menu.
