It is one thing that I find very annoying, and very unintuitive - the way Firefox is saving bookmarks without confirmation .

The bookmark editor window , when enabled, should at least have an option to not save a bookmark without clicking the Safe (bookmark) button .

The way it is now, I still can't remember what I need to do to not save a bookmark , which is a core functionality for me .

I constantly have to clean up my bookmark folders due to that , and am hesitant to use bookmarking websites if I can avoid it .

Do you mean what happens when you press ctrl-D or cmd-D?

By default, if you press ctrl-D, bookmarks will auto-save without prompting. If this is not the behaviour you want you can press ctrl-D a second time, or click the star button, then uncheck the "Show editor when saving" box at the bottom of the pop-up.

Perhaps what is meant would be that when the Star is clicked, unless you hit "cancel", the bookmark is saved anyway.

If you click elsewhere on the screen while the editor is open, an expected behaviour could be that the Bookmarking is to be aborted, but such behaviour might also be left to the User's decision in about:preferences or about:config...

Thanks for your replies !

Sorry if my posting wasn't clear enough, foreign speaker here 😉 .

I meant what S2000 has described ; basically I'd expect the bookmark editor to behave like the  Save As dialogue box does in most apps ; Save As won't be executed without user confirmation , by clicking a button or enter .
