Status: In development

In Firefox Android, I often have multiple tabs open. When I scroll up and down to navigate through the tabs, I sometimes accidentally close a tab. Probably because I was swiping diagonally up. I have a few seconds to click the undo button that pops up.

I've never intentionally used this gesture since I click the x button to close a tab.

Please add an option to disable the side swipe gesture.

@Sin_Shadow_Fox target release is 137 - we'll update the thread if anything changes

I tried the Nightly Build, but it has no option to manually set a home page I plan to remove it.

Thank you @Jon for this great news. I'll look forward to 137 (or later version if not ready by then). There's at least some hope now.

I had the implementation of the swipe to close, I notice that once the swipe has started that it's hard to cancel and keep the tab open. Shouldn't the swipe be at least 50% of the tab card's width before acting as the close gesture? Also, if someone is pulling up or down on the tab card more than swiping to the side, it should just scroll and not close.

It's simple vector math, if difference of x is greater than difference of y it is the close gesture, else it is a scrolling one.

When I first use the browser in any given session, it mistakes even perfectly straight up and down scrolling as sideways swipes. After I have scrolled a few times it seems to get less sensitive. PLEASE either turn down the sensitivity in the first place or allow us the option of turning off this frustrating "feature."
