I live in the Netherlands and I am studying Dutch. English is also not my native language.
I usually do not want to translate the whole website. Instead, I prefer using “Translate selection to…” from the right-click menu. This helps me understand only the words or phrases I need.
The problem is that Firefox always tries to automatically detect the selected language. Because Dutch and English can sometimes look similar, Firefox often guesses the wrong language. For example, the word “vierde”.
I would prefer an option to disable automatic language detection for selected text and simply reuse the last selected source language. This would save a LOT of time.
It would also be helpful to have an option to show only selected/favorite languages in the translation menu. For completely new languages, users can still use the full-page translation feature, but for everyday it would be faster to keep only the languages we use regularly.
Thank you
