Currently, when modifying a recurring event you can either delete all occurrences or the current occurrence. It would be nice to be able to delete the future events, but leave those that have already occurred unchanged.

There's a bug ticket for this that's been open for ... are you sitting down? ... TWENTY years!

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320178

Do you even remember what y'all were doing 20 years ago? Before Covid, before Obama, before the 2008 financial crisis? It will probably never get fixed.  😞

Hello,

I've just voted that bug #320178.

Please sign up for https://bugzilla.mozilla.org (you might have already, if you are a member of this forum) and vote for the bug too.

Please also vote these posts:

It seems the code change should be:

  1. add the options "this and all future events" on the UI
  2. programmatically execute the sequence A or C as described here: https://kb.mozillazine.org/Edit_or_remove_future_occurrences_of_a_repeating_event_-_Sunbird_Lightnin...

Could there be a better sequence of actions than A and C?

I would be glad if I could use Thunderbird's Lightning as a desktop client for editing tasks and events, that fully supports all features available also in Nextcloud calendar and tasks.
With crucial calendar and task management features missing, unfortunately I can only use e-Mail functions.

The above feature is helpful if you work with recurring events.

Currently I use #Nextcloud calendar and tasks as a back end / sync server via CalDAV-protocol to my Android Smartphone, where I use#CalenGoo.

Since the desktop version of CalenGoo is not running properly on my Windows PC I use #Link to Windows as a screen sharing option

Quite complicated.

Therefore I'd like to encourage Thunderbird developers to implement the feature requested above together with other calendar and task management features.
