Open link in same tab

i would really like Firefox would add a feature that when you open a link it does in the same tab. I use the new tab override to do that, all other browsers have that feature. And please add this feature. Because I do not want to have many extension to Firefox. when it should be a standard feature. So i really hope that would come soon.

It would be nice to have a shortcut like there is for forcing links to open in new tabs in the background (on mac: command + t) to open external links in the same tab.

This would be a useful workaround for sites like Bandcamp that expect you to use tabs as bookmarks.

Yes please. We need to have Firefox for Android open bookmarks, links, anything really, in the SAME TAB. I hate have 8, 10, 12, or more open tabs on my phone.

I can go to the about:config file on desktop Firefox and change this behavior, but this doesn't work on Android.

If the settings panel had a check box to enable Open Links In The Same Tab, that would be awesome.

Just so you know, I have switched from Firefox to Brave for this very reason. Brave doesn't open a bazillion tabs during my browsing sessions.
