Open in split tab

With the new split tab, it would be really nice to see a right click "Open in split tab" option on hyperlinks. Also being able to drag a hyperlink to one side of the browser to auto split tab it, similar to the same feature for opening in a new tab (drag to the top of the browser).

When you are reading an article, it is very convenient to open a link in the article in split view, and not lose focus while reading. This works great! However, when a splitview is open, you can't open in split view again.

What would be perfect, is that once a split view is open, every click on a link will now open in split view. This way you never lose focus of the main article you are reading, and can quickly examine the links in the article. 

If you really need to keep a link open, you can always open it in another tab.

I think people get used to it quickly. Keep open? Open in tab. Read main article and quickly view a link? Open in split view. View a new link? Just (left) click and it will load in the already open split view window.
