Right now I use an EMR software where I click a link and it opens a popup with a pdf embed and additional information about the document on the right side of the pop up. Now previously the EMR provider I use just embedded it in such a way that I could look at the pdf file and if I wanted to click it from the pop up and it would automatically download and open into my favorite editor (PDF X-change) for me to work on.

But now the have configured it so that firefoxes embedded pdf editor tools are in the embed and theres no button to download and open the pdf with 1 click. Sure I can click save, then save again, then downloads, then open it... but it creates what used to be 1 click and makes it 4+ clicks and when you are dealing with 1000s of documents it massively increases my work load.

What I am requesting is a button that just instantly downloads and then opens the pdf file.

Please consider this thanks.

@Tobiasrankin just to clarify: did something change in the EMR software or in Firefox?

BTW, is there any specific editing functionality you need that Firefox doesn't offer?
