I would like to see the Thunderbird Chat implement OMEMO for XMPP messages. Every modern XMPP messenger has OMEMO, and implementing it in Thunderbird would preclude having to have an additional XMPP desktop app just for messaging.
What is the best way to create a bounty for OMEMO in Thunderbird Chat? I had a bounty on bountysource and they are now gone, with my money. I am betting there are enough people who want this implemented who are willing to chip in to make it happen. That path seems more likely than one of the people who wants this implemented knowing how to code it and having the time, or they would have already done it 9 years ago.
Like @alexcccp said in the previous message, Thunderbird really need to support OMEMO for XMPP, if it really want to be an all-in-one solution. I would even add, that it need to have OMEMO support added yesterday.
And @unbroken is right, if there was a way for users to put a bounty on the functionality, it might accelerate the chances and speed for OMEMO being supported in Thunderbird. (I would even gladly add some of my € to the bounty.)
