Just like on Fennec, I'd like to be able to save an offline version of a page when a page is bookmarked when it's opened in reading mode.

Thanks for posting this idea @christantoan. I hadn't thought about that, but this could a really useful way to save mobile data when travelling. I guess it's possible to use Pocket, but sometimes it's easier to keep everything in the browser.

@christantoan @s1fly Could you also add if this feature were available, what kind of content/webpages are you most likely to use this feature for? like news webpages, but anything else?

Hello @apandya,

Thank you for your reply. My comment keeps getting flagged as spam so hopefully this slightly longer one won't.

I used the offline saved reading list to save web novels I follow.

Thank you.

Hey @apandya thanks for replying to this thread. I think for me, the primary use would be articles and associated media that I could read while commuting or traveling where I can’t use mobile data. I miss Pocket a lot and have installed Readeck on a Raspberry Pi to create something similar. Maybe a means to capture something as a PDF.

However to @christantoan‘s point, if we went further and looked at web apps, I could imagine great opportunity for sites like Coursera where you could turn a course into offline content temporarily. I guess that beyond Mozilla’s scope really.

Stepping slightly into web apps (PWA), small utilities like currency converters, public transport maps, even timetables for that matter, would be really useful. Having a temporary offline version of a site would eliminate the need to download a bunch of apps where you need to create accounts, sign-in and negotiate trackers and alike. Perfect for a business trip or holiday.
