Would love there to be a way where you can open split screen and have one tab remain open on one say (say a doc your working on) while having the other half of the screen operate like a normal, single-screen experience where you can search for new tabs, browse search results, switch between different tabs, etc, all while your tab on the other half of the screen remains constant.

Good example would be the way Arc Browser handles split screening.

Thank you

SplitView QoL Suggestion 1 : New Tab Button

I've been playing around with splitView for a few days now, and it's in an excellent state for a brand new feature, but there are some friction points that could do with some quality of life massages to really shine as a browser feature.

When you first open SplitView, you're presented with a list of tabs from that window which you can immediately add to that side of the view. I frequently have many tabs wit very similar names, and regularly click the wrong link, and the mistake is cumbersome to correct.

While a list of tabs extant tabs to add to your splitView is a perfectly cromulent way to decide what tab ya want on the second screen, it assumes the tab you want to splitView with already exists. If the tab doesn't already exist, you have to first create it before navigating back to the splitView tab to select it.

Adding a button to whichever corner of the new SplitView screen which simply opens a new tab directly into the SplitView panel would fully eliminate input friction for this action.
