The standard Firefox new tab page (Firefox Home) provides advertisement in form of sponsored links to the users. If you dislike that, you can turn off this behavior in the settings. Thats great, and i disabled advertisement because it messes with the links i normally want to put there. But i also would like to support Mozilla by accepting advertisement on my start page, just don't want it to interfere with my pinned shortcuts/links. So it would be nice to have those sponsored links separated from the personal links. There could just be another Row of links which can be sponsored, then i would turn them on again.

On a similar theme, it would be nice if they could reduce the number of news stories they promote that just lead to paywalled articles.

Again, I'd like to click stories there as it supports Mozilla, but not if it ends-up wasting my time often.

The Verge (a tech news site) are awful for this: more than 50% of all stories are paywalled.
