I'm personally a heavy tab user but have always wondered why there is almost no support for tab grouping or customization in the native tab bar in Firefox.

I think making it able to group like Google Chrome does for example or at least giving more access for extensions and add-ons would significantly improve the UI in that regard.

Is there no way to re-order tab groups?

@Jonwould you be able to shed some light on the Firefox multi-account containers and how it will integrate or coexist with the new tab groups feature? To make tab groups work well, it's important that we can containerize the groups and separate data for security and privacy reasons.

Now that a tab group can be created, a color assigned and displaying properly, it would be nice to have the ability to link an account container to a tab group and disable the container color. Right now if you open a tab in a container (lets say Work) and add it to the tab group "Work" it duplicates the color (see below).

Try Floorp Browser (based on Firefox Gecko engine). They have inbuilt with workspace also.

+1 to wanting/needing GROUPS back in FF. I have been using FF for many years. But I also use Chrome and Safari daily...and simultaneously on multiple computers. Specifically, on my work (and home) computers, I use Chrome for my work Gmail account, and FF (or Safari) for my personal account.

I never used Groups in FF when it was available, but have become quite dependent on Chrome Groups.

I just tried an extension for FF and it was not the same...maybe I need to spend some more time, but I want simple because I want to be able to teach others what I do (high school teacher), and asking students (and fellow teachers) to install extensions is a deal killer to even get started. Not to mention, the students can't add extensions.

Anyway, just want Groups built in...and work like Chrome and Safari.

Thanks!

It's there, but disabled by default. To enable it, go to about:config and search for "browser.tabs.groups.enabled" and click the double-arrow button to mark "true." After it's been enabled, you can right-click your tabs and add them to groups

It’s half-baked and not even working correctly with vertical tabs
