I'm personally a heavy tab user but have always wondered why there is almost no support for tab grouping or customization in the native tab bar in Firefox.

I think making it able to group like Google Chrome does for example or at least giving more access for extensions and add-ons would significantly improve the UI in that regard.

The tab groups feature is what made me instantly go back to Chrome. Too bad for my privacy, I'll watch the future releases and pray for a tab group management feature to be built.

This is an essential feature and it is incredibly frustrating that it's not available. I really hope to see it in the next update or it's back to chrome!

After there was a change at the top of Mozilla, one can only hope that such suggestions as here will finally be seen!!!! Otherwise things will continue to go downhill - definitely. I am sure of that. I myself am more and more annoyed with the way demands like this thread are handled. I can only agree with the demands to establish tab grouping like in Chrome. In my day-to-day work, I also have several tabs open all the time and have now also tried out several extensions. No - none of it works. For example, I simply can't and don't want to open a sidebar. The implementation should also be tackled quickly.

@Daniel1 You can go back to Chrome now, they haven't even started working on it yet lol.

@Terax, Floorp does support Tab Group, and for people who want both Tab Group, use Floorp, this is full guide: https://github.com/Floorp-Projects/Floorp/discussions/876

Both a tree-view tabs and grouping when using title-tabs would be welcome. I'd personally want a tree/vertical tabs option. Got used to them now that I've been using Edge because Youtube lags on Firefox after watching it for a while.

Firefox needs tab groups!

I'm a longtime Firefox user and fan but I find myself using it less and less just because it lacks a feature that other browsers have recently adopted and that's tabbed groups. On both Safari and Microsoft Edge I like being able to organize my tabs by topic and they basically are kept indefinitely until I decide to delete them. I realize we can do something similar by just keeping several tabs open in a single browser window but that's not very intuitive and you can easily forget what a window is related to. It would be great if Firefox incorporated tab groups into a future release. I don't want to have to install a third-party extension for this feature (and wouldn't). Thank you!

This missing feature has finally made me move to chrome, I prefer firefox in everyway and have no desire to jump into googles ecosystembut the lack of support for tab management and the quality of the available extensions means if I want to work productivly then at the moment I have no choice

I moved to Firefox from Chrome, and this is the only feature that I really miss. The extensions available at the moment just don't match the feel of native tab grouping. I would really love for this feature to get added.

The lack of this option is just killing my productivity and I find my self using two browsers, a Chromium-based one and Firefox, but I guess I'll have to stop using Firefox even if I like it because of this option missing, which is a dealbreaker

Yeah, no... I'll stick to ungoogled chromium. If I wanted "workspaces" I could just use Firefox profiles. And if I wanted what Floorp does I'd open a new window.

Any info if the Firefox planning team have been eyeing the native tab grouping feature in Chromium/Chrome/Edge?

Firefox dearly needs this! 🙂 Please, it would be awesome.

Thanks for a great product! ❤
