I'm personally a heavy tab user but have always wondered why there is almost no support for tab grouping or customization in the native tab bar in Firefox.

I think making it able to group like Google Chrome does for example or at least giving more access for extensions and add-ons would significantly improve the UI in that regard.

I think tab grouping is not necessary as there is a multi-windows support in Firefox desktop. Google Chrome supports both tab groups and rename window, make a duplicate in functions.

We can see tabs when hover mouse to the tab groups for protect minimalism, and we can give a name to groups for better UX.

honestly I find Chrome-ish tab grouping very inconvenient to use. I wish they brought something like they had in older Firefox versions, Simple Tab Groups is a great example for what they should add.

The main reason why I need Chrome for Work and also almost switched over in my private use is simply the grouping.

Its so much more convenient for me to group a lot of tabs into the groups which they belong to and being able to switch between them seeminglessly.

All the current extensions work over an extra side or top bar, or extra drop down menu and so on and so on, which in my experience is super iratating when switching between different tasks quickly.

So something in that direction would basically take the one of the last 2 points chrome has going for it for me.

Which is the amount of extensions/addons and Nativ Tab Bar Grouping

I would love to have a way to group tabs. I understand this used to be possible in Firefox, I would like to see this function return to Firefox.

I pin quite a few tabs and some related ones could easily be grouped, which would make my user experience much better and unclutter the interface.

I have to jump between many different projects, each of which needs tabs for websites related to each project.  It would be great if we could group tabs by project, and then collapse them under the overall project tab.  Kind of like Words outline view.  I've tried booksmarks, but you then have to open each bookmarked website individually.  I envision either 1) two lines of tabs: the top line for group or project tabs, that when selected display all the tabs for that group on the next line, or 2) a way to select multiple tabs, give them a group tab name, then hide all the child tabs under that one group tab with a clickable + sign to open up the hidden group of tabs to the right of the group heading tab, the display a - sign to rehide the group;  like grouping data then collapsing it in ExcelOutline.

TAB Groups is an essential built in function that should be incorporated in all browsers today for organization just like Bookmarks or Favorites, History and Printing. Very unclear why it was ever removed from Firefox, what's next non more TABS at all or removal of Bookmarks?                                            Request to please consider to bring back the built in Firefox Tab Groups, many FF users are leaving due to this lack of modern day interface. Yes their are "group" extensions, have tried them all and they ether have bugs or do not incorporate the basic functions such as TAB Groups, and Hide Groups, Show Groups. Having it built into the product is like having an Cruise Control in your car, it make FF efficient and easier to get around and it's not a bolt on other program to have to run in Firefox like an extension. Thanks for consideration from the FF DEV team.

I think It's really a shame that FF doesn't have native tabbed grouping. There are many other browsers that have implemented this concept: Chrome/Edge, Vivaldi and even Opera even though they have a different way to manage grouping.

I use the browser as a working tool in my job so Tabbed grouping is a must for me. The addons I tested are just weak compare ti what a native development has to offer. Just look at the beautifully crafted Vivaldi tabbed grouping, it's in my opinion the best all around, however Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome have also a good way to group tabs.

This is the main reason why I can't use FF in my work environment, I didn't find anything that looks like the Vivaldi experience nor the Chrome/Edge ecperience.

I really hope this feature will be implemented in the near future and the moment it will I'll ditch all other browsers in favor of FF.
