I'm personally a heavy tab user but have always wondered why there is almost no support for tab grouping or customization in the native tab bar in Firefox.

I think making it able to group like Google Chrome does for example or at least giving more access for extensions and add-ons would significantly improve the UI in that regard.

Sad to see there is no word regarding this issue from the devs, People clearly want this, and Firefox devs just keep ignoring us? I don't really like using Brave, but work-wise, it really is convenient when I can group dozens of tabs... The lack of this feature still keeps me from adopting Firefox.

If firefox open up the API to allow controlling the tab bar I will personally learn how to write an extension to allow grouping like in chrome. This issue is the sole thing that prevents me from using firefox as my work (Dev Ops) browser as opposed to just my personal browser.

Group Tabs

A feature like in Chrome that would allow for the formation and collapsing of tabs into "groups" to assist in organization and productivity. For some neuro-divergent, it could also help develop a helpful or focused environment while avoiding distractions (i.e., have a media player [YouTube, Spotify, Pandora] operating out of sight and not distracting.)

I came by tab groups in Edge (work) personally I use Firefox, but this is a feature I'm really missing. Any update here, any plans to implement it, any official feature request, ticket, something?

It's crazy that this thread has been ongoing for a year and a half, with nothing to show for it.

At this point, I don't see it being added until v120.0 so they can call it "the most requested thing, FINALLY added". Because All companies are known to do this. *Apple has entered the chat*

As someone whose working on a limited computer - i.e. only 8gigs of ram - I can Only handle one browser at a time so grouped tabs are a Must at this point, besides it being an extension (to which the "best" extension I tried, Still doesn't suit my needs + hasn't been updated for today's times & look and feel).

This is totally the reason I use Vivaldi as my default/goto browser.  Organization of tabs for my research.  Areas to keep my personal/entertainment surfing separate form my research, and keep my research organized.
I prefer FF for general surfing, but I'd like to be able to use it for my serious stuff and only need 1 broswer!

Hi,

First time writing here in ideas section so sorry if my comment is not structured right ...

That being said: First - i really enjoy using Firefox. Idea: Would it be great to kinda shift tabs back to the beginning of the stack? I am also opening a lot of tabs and sometimes I would like to kinda shift it all the way to left side ( 1 or 2 place ) It could be like holding mouseDown on TAB -> press cmd / windows -> press 1 ( as behind the first opened TAB ) .  Wrap-up: Sorry that I haven't checked if this IDEA is already being discussed or even realized irl .

Regards, Pete

I would donate quite a sum of money if this feature was added to firefox.

I switched to Vivaldi about 3 months ago and I can confirm it's a whole new world. The ability to manage tab groups and workspaces makes my work much simpler, more organized and fluid. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't lack any of the Firefox features. Today I was supposed to renew my Mozilla VPN subscription but I decided not to contribute to financing a company that ignores years of requests from thousands of (former) supporters in this way. Instead, I purchased a PIA subscription.
