A calculator is a key functionality which, if added to Firefox, would be amazing. Every time I do a calculation, I have to launch my search engine and search for what I want. Even then, the '/' symbol triggers quick find. It would be a boon to have a calculator side-by side with my tabs.

Great idea!

Set browser.urlbar.suggest.calculator to true, it was implemented in Firefox 89 three years ago.

@s_hentzschelthanks for the help! But here are some problems I have encountered:

1. The '/' division symbol doesn't work in conjunction with other functions

2. I also couldn't find any documentation regarding such functions, available anywhere on Firefox/Mozilla.

Is there a solution for this?

As it seems that they finally want to ship the feature, it's probably the best if you could file a bug if something is not working properly.

Greetings,

I thought a clever tool would be an in-built calculator tool that could be pinned to the toolbar. Since I do not quite like the Microsoft one. Preferably one with a percentage function. Also, custom wallpapers might be nice, but not logical.

Other than that I am very happy with this browser.

I think browser.urlbar.suggest.calculator should be true by default. It's just useful and does no harm.

Is there any reason why this isn't enabled by default?

Agreed. I'd like this to be turned on by default.
