The new Freedesktop 25.08 runtime has been available for quite some time now (see https://discourse.flathub.org/t/freedesktop-sdk-25-08-0-released/10399). As of about two weeks ago, Firefox is the only Flatpak installed on my system which still uses the old 24.08 runtime. It would be great to see the manifest at https://hg-edge.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/tip/browser/installer/linux/app/flatpak migrate to the new runtime. There are likely to be quite a few benefits from the new package versions and it would make the installation sizes a lot smaller for many users.

It is useful to note that the ffmpeg-full runtime has been replaced by codecs-extra now.

Thank you for Firefox!  I really appreciate having a mature, non-Chromium browser to test my webapps on.

I also noticed that Firefox is my last app that requires `org.freedesktop.Platform` 24.08.  It's now 3 months later.  Is there a migration plan?  What's blocking it?

I also love Firefox and thank you!  However we are now closer to 26.08 than 25.08, and still on 24.08.  Please keep the Flatpak fresh!
