Make the Bookmark Folder Selection List Larger and Resizable in the Add/Edit Bookmark Dialog

Problem

When adding or editing a bookmark in Firefox, the folder selection list under "Location" is displayed in a very small area that shows only a few folders at a time.

For users with many bookmark folders and nested subfolders, navigating this small list is frustrating and inefficient.

The main problems are:

1. Limited visible space: Only a handful of folders are visible, requiring excessive scrolling.

2. Unpredictable scrolling: When scrolling through the folder hierarchy, the list sometimes jumps unexpectedly, making it difficult to keep track of the current position and locate the intended folder.

3. No resizing option: Users cannot enlarge the folder selection area to make navigation easier.

Proposed improvement

I suggest making the folder selection list in the Add/Edit Bookmark dialog larger and more flexible.

Ideally, Firefox should support the following:

1. Resizable folder list: Allow users to drag the bottom edge or corner of the folder selection area to adjust its height.

2. Larger default size: When expanded, the folder list should display significantly more folders at once, using more of the available screen space.

3. Remember user preferences: If a user resizes the list, Firefox should remember the chosen dimensions for future bookmarking operations.

4. Stable scrolling: Scrolling through folders should remain smooth and predictable, without unexpected jumps or changes in position.

Expected benefit

This improvement would make bookmark management considerably easier, particularly for users who maintain extensive, deeply organized bookmark collections.

It would reduce unnecessary scrolling, help users find folders more quickly, and make the Add/Edit Bookmark dialog more practical for frequent use.

Preferred solution: Allow users to resize the folder list and remember their preferred size.

Alternative solution: Permanently increase the default expanded folder list height so that more folders are visible without requiring manual resizing.
