Make app.update.silent a checkbox in the standard settings menu

When a user selects the option to check for updates but let you choose to install them, Firefox still downloads and prepares updates silently in the background while the user is actively working.

Recently, this silent background process has been causing frequent freezes and crashes. The user is then forced to kill the process, restart Firefox, and lose their active workflow.

To fix this, users currently have to go into about config and manually change app.update.silent to false. This ensures that Firefox prompts the user immediately upon startup, allowing them to update safely before opening dozens of tabs, and without unexpected freezes during the workday.

Feature Request:
Please bring the app.update.silent option to the main Settings menu as a simple checkbox. If a user chooses to manage their own updates, they should also be able to easily choose when they are notified, without having to dig into hidden expert configuration menus.
