It's a simple thing, really...buts it's annoying in it's lack. And, it shuts down ones immediate productivity upon opening Thunderbird.
Currently, Thunderbird opens, logs into an email server, and then starts to populate the page with new emails. Great! However, as it does so, those emails push down from the top. I get a lot of emails...hundreds each day. So when I click on my first email of immediate interest (for preview)...if more emails are being loaded...the emails continue that pushing of emails to the bottom, out of sight, even if I have highlighted it. I simply want the SCROLL of new emails to NOT automatically push emails down the page.
It's okay if my other emails pile up out of sight above, because I can work on what caught my attention without having to wait for the complete load of new emails.
I know you can double click to open (and thus HOLD) an email to work on it, but I am talking about a single click to highlight the email so I can see it in the preview pane without having click in and out of each email I THINK I want to work on first. I often mark the interesting email's with a star and it's tough to do when my page is in motion. Having starred the emails I can go back after my FIRST LOOK of the day and filter out just my starred emails.
Less clicks; it's faster if it just doesn't automatically scroll.
* So when I highlight an email, with that single click, I want the automatic scrolling to STOP.
STOP the SCROLL! Lol...sounds political. 🙂
Thanks
