The new Google Lens feature in Firefox is nice and something people have wanted for a while. But it only works when there’s already an image on the page. That’s pretty limited.
It would be much better if we could use it anywhere on a webpage — like take a quick screenshot or select part of the screen and search that on Google Lens. There’s already an extension that does this called “To Google Lens” (link). It lets you right-click, drag to capture an area, and send it straight to Lens.
If Firefox added that same ability natively, it’d make the feature complete. You wouldn’t need extra extensions, and it would feel way smoother and more useful in everyday browsing.
