When using Firefox's split screen feature, switching focus between the two panes currently requires a mouse click. This adds unnecessary friction, especially for users who frequently reference one pane while working in the other.

Simple idea: whichever split screen pane the mouse cursor is hovering over becomes the active/focused pane automatically, with no click required. This mirrors how focus-follows-mouse works in many tiling window managers and multi-monitor setups, and would make split screen browsing significantly more fluid.
