The new "List all tabs" button redesign is off-putting for many users. An option to hide or disable it with a preference would be really helpful. It can't even be hidden with "Customize Toolbar" which seems like an oversight.

Users deserve a little agency in how the browser should look and feel.

This reminds me so much of the separate taskbar listing for private windows debacle a while back; they introduced this "feature", many people hated it (yours truly included), next patch had an about:config key to disable it. More than half a year afterwards, they removed the config key's functionality, for absolutely no apparent reason (and they were active in the following discussions, they never gave their reasoning iirc). The reaction was so harsh that they had to reintroduce the feature to block the "feature" next patch.

I do wonder if someone there saw nobody was clicking on the button, and thought the solution was to make the button catch attention, instead of coming to the proper conclusion that many people just didn't need or like the button's functionality to begin with.

Yeah, I definitely feel like I start going crazy when I have more than 8 tabs open. I close tabs pretty aggressively. They're always in the history anyway, and I've only had to dig up an obscure old page I visited, maybe like once a month if even. So this button has no value for me and the little down chevron was at least something you can visually ignore.

Kudos. Or at least let us change it to the previous design.

Please. There should be option to hide this, especially if we're using vertical tabs.

Hi folks!

There's a contributor patch to make the icon hideable - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1918681, and only return it to the toolbar/navbar if an extension hides tabs, as a security measure. We're finalizing its review, and it will going to be riding the trains shortly.

The "List Tabs" button has shown up in the toolbar again after the latest update. For some reason, it cannot be removed from the toolbar without a custom style sheet, and the about:config option has been removed. Please undo this change. There is no reason to force this button for all users. This is especially frustrating because when the button is right-clicked on, there is an option for "Remove from Toolbar," but it is greyed out. Why was this functionality removed? Please bring it back.

Neither work for me. What do I do?
