Here's another idea for improving the look of the pin icon: change pin color to site color

Making moves

this may be trivial, but I greatly dislike the new visible pins on my homepage icons. it ruins the aesthetic. please make them invisible again.

I just opened a browser after what may have been an update, and my pinned sites now all have these small, white, "pin" icons in the upper left corner of the "buttons" on my home/landing page. It never used to be that way, and these buttons used to look more like Chrome buttons or like the buttons you see on Android devices for apps to click on. Can you all please remove these or tell me how to remove these little white "pin" icons on the buttons? It is a minor thing, but I hate the way it looks.

Came here to say this. Looks especially terrible in dark mode. Very distracting.

Hello

You can try
1 - Go to Configuration Editor for Firefox https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-config-editor-firefox
2 - Enter a search term browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabShortcuts.refresh and set the false value

Take a look at https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/discussions/feedback-for-the-new-tab-layout-variants-in-the-home-page...

Agree. Absolutely hate them!!!!! Because they look like those jiggle icons that you get when you are about to edit your shortcut pins on a smart phone!!! Every time I open Firefox now I think I’m in edit mode and if I click on anything I’m going to accidentally delete it because I think I’m in edit mode!!!!!

Add an option to hide pin icons on mobile homepage shortcuts

A recent update on Firefox for iOS gave each pinned shortcut on the homepage a pin icon overlay in the upper left corner of the shortcut’s button. This looks really cluttered and I much preferred the previous style without the pin icon. Can an option be added to hide these icon overlays?
