Status: New idea

It's not secret that many people dislike the new changes to the menu and tabs viewer, further there are people who will not be able to use it or severely struggle to use it. By allowing us the option of which we use and see it will allow users to continue using our favorite and preferred android web browser as well as allow those who prefer the older style of menu and tab organization.

The ui or change is bad uses to much space and is slower 0 stars, people eat grass and like it, but no everyone is dumb and happy changing to something the just find, after using ff for more than 20 years this sad. (-_-)

@OM If you like the new UI fine. We don't want to take it from you the way Firefox took the old UI from us. We want the *option* for them both to exist side by side. We *prefer* the old way and for some the old way's ease of use makes using a mobile web browser possible.

You say "people are afraid of afraid of change" as though change is always good. It's not. And even if it is, some of us like the old way better. Options should exist. Period. Then *everyone* can be happy.

Revert to the old UI and give people the option to enable the horrible bloated redesign.

A software is a living being. would you want your kids to stay 8 years old all their life, with the limitation of a 8 year old kid? I wouldn't.

Then, kids have their issues, grown up have their issues.

Same here . And the good news is that software bugs are easier to correct than human ones. 😂

Yes, the new UI is not bug free , and those bugs will likely be corrected over time.

You were asking an example of a new feature? "Summarize the page", for instance. I know you will rant about AI so please spare your fingers. But you were asking for an example currently in nightlies already.

And don't tell me your spend your life in the menu, I won't believe you! Menu is a seldom usage. Toolbar isn't and that one is configurable now.

And regarding the bug about non scrollable tab list with only 3 tabs, learn the power of setting the configuration to Never close tabs and archive old ones. It is a blessing.

New UI, old UI, I really don't care as long as they work well. And they do, both. With some few glitches still to correct in the younger one, that is true.

The only yet important differences is that the new design is moderner and more future-proof.

Just get used to it, and use the new configuration tweaks available in the settings that makes accessing the menu luch less needed.

@OM I have no idea what you're on about. I don't have to get use to anything if I so choose. Case in point if there's not a choice of whether to use the old tab viewer or the new one the people who genuinely hate the new one will move on from Firefox permanently. We don't want to which is why this post about options exists. Again, we're not saying get rid of the new one, because we know people like it, we want the option to use the old way. If you're just here to say "Get use to it" then you're adding nothing to the conversation.

@OM Useless comparison for a useless UI with new useless features (if you feel that "summarize with AI" is a useful one, I feel sorry for you). We do not want to force you anything, we are asking for the choice of not having useless borders and icons. And stop suggesting this useless thing of "never closing tab", is not how tab are supposed to be used.

Firefox for Android user since it was released. I use Firefox for Android for a long time despite multiple obvious flaws - lack of bookmarks export/import, very poor UI customization like only 2 rows of shortcuts etc. It's bad, but tolerable.

However, only after the latest menu change and removal of the "Secret menu" workaround I started to consider to drop Firefox for Android completely. It is simply too much to bear, I can't. For now I have frozen my app version. I know it's not secure, so in a few weeks I'll have to make a decision.

The new menu/tabs design is so horrible and counterintuitive that I'm now seriously thinking that Firefox for Android developers DO NOT actually use it. And I don't really understand what was the reason to make worse something which was already good.

I really hope Mozilla gives people possibility to decide which UI fits them best and not push something very controversial while removing any alternatives.

Firefox recently introduced a new UI design for the Android app, and I like many users don't like it.

People have been requesting an option to revert to the old UI because the new one is because quite frustrating to use.

The option was removed from the secret menu, forced to this inefficient new one, give me the choice to use the old ui, so I can have a good user experience.

Users have the choice to use AI or tabs that's stay, none off that is not useful for me but is your choise.

I always start in private mode, clean history, after any use, and need a fast secure browser without, waste a number off steps to do what should be simple and functional, why is so hard to understand.

The biggest reason I used Firefox on mobile was for the tabs page not being full screen. The new design looks like every other mainstream chromium browser and it sucks.

Same with the 3 dots menu, before I could open a webpage in it's app in two buttons now it takes 3 buttons and it's confusing which drop-down menu to press on every time

Agree, I created an account just to upvote this. Stop "fixing" stuff that work.

Needing more click to do basic stuff that needed less before is not improvement !

I've voted to this. Have a tall phone, so it's not pleasant to close tabs anymore. One handed mode is not really possible.

I found this voting opportunity by accident,  despite having been on here for a while,  complaining about this very issue.  How many others don't know about this partial attempt at democracy, that seems to get noticed by Mozilla unlike the empassioned, thoughtful, desperate feedback  elsewhere here?

Please  include the conversations about the issue  as a block vote about the seriousness of this issue.

I'm looking for alternative browsers, over this single issue, like many others.

Please, we need this. I find it much harder to use the menu now, so I'd love an option to go back. The old design was excellent. I thought that by now I would have got used to the new one, but I really haven't; every time I have to use the menu, I am reminded of how much better it used to be while I navigate around the palm-sized buttons to find what I want.

PLEASE give us this, it is desperately needed
