Hello,

An idea that I would like to suggest is to integrate into Thunderbird a possibility to empty all the trash of the different accounts presents. Also the possibility after emptying to compress the trash.

For those who know, this is the basic principle of xpunge extension. Empty and compress all or part of the trash and junk folders. I have been using this extension for several years, but like many others, the developers do not all have the means to follow the evolutions of thunderbird, the development methods changing regularly.

Thank you for taking my idea into consideration.

Yes, @kaspertheghost, thanks, very good idea, I just wanted to suggest that and found yours!  🙂
(The suggestion but to compress an already emptied trash I do not quite understand, but ok... 😉 )

I also would like to see this integrated into the app. It helps to save time, space, work and effort.  Keeping my folders all compacted, clean and manageable

Hello 1962up

When you do not compress a trash, the messages that are emptied do not free up the space they use, so you can empty the trash and it continues to grow. This is why mail software regularly propose to compress folders to recover space and gain performance.

In addition, messages emptied from an uncompressed trash can still be recovered, which could be a security issue.
