It would be great if #Thunderbird added support for the Firefox Translations add-on
The add-on could allow you to translate received emails you're viewing via a click of a button, or even translate an email you're writing into another language before sending.

You might want to look at these addons for Thunderbird, which do translations in Thunderbird 102.
I just filed a bug to request this: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1823007
Thank you @tdulcet I'll keep an eye on that bugzilla request
Thank you for an excellent suggestion! This is something the Thunderbird team would love to see implemented. As you may know, there was some initial work done on an extension, but Firefox Translations is moving in-tree soon.To quote Mozilla's Greg Tatum:
"We're currently working on documentation. We're also integrating the popup logic for web page translations in browser/components/translations, but that's currently a WIP. In the next few months it should be mature enough to consider for Thunderbird."
We'll definitely keep a close eye on this, and once we have something concrete to share, you'll see it across our social media platforms (linked below).

Offline translations are very important.

This is one of my key asks! I work for a public administration which works in 24 languages, and regularly recieve emails in each of those languages. I can't translate them through online translation tools due to privacy and security concerns. Having Firefox Translate in Thunderbird would be a massive improvement for me 🙂
