So, every tried the hassle to print a webpage as a PDF and got frustrated by the provided page based restrictions totally ruining the webpage layout or PDF readability? This is for YOU! This is for the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. Those who would like to fit long webpages on strange PDF papers ...
So here are my suggestions:
- provide users with the ability to print websites to a paper format that has endless rolling paper, so that the entire website can fit on a single pice of "paper". Allow users to customize the paper width.
- Allow people to "print" the page as it is currently displayed on there screen, like the screenshot tool already allows (like "Save full page" or "Save visible") but where the output is not a PNG but a PDF with all its advantages. Think starting from the the ease of the dev screen size simulation environment could be a great start for users to specify website render sizes.
- Allow people to decide what "@media" CSS each print job should use.
