Firefox built-in Adblocker

Firefox should include a built-in adblocker, just like what Brave, Opera, etc have done. This should be something all browsers should include

The way I have configured Firefox I don't see no ads on any websites especially YouTube. uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, CanvasBlocker, facebook container, Unhook and Enhancer for YouTube.

By default, Brave is far ahead of Firefox in terms of privacy and user data protection, and is comparable to LibreWolf, a fork of Firefox. In fact, Firefox should be just like its fork.

I disagree. uBlock Origin is working very well, and there is no way a built in adblocker can block ads as well as uBlock Origin. And uBlock Origin is a very well known and trustworthy extension. I think it would be better if Firefox suggested installing the uBlock extension during setup.

Firefox Mobile has native extension support, unlike Chromium based mobile browsers. And Firefox is the only browser that supports Manifest V2 natively and thus continues to support uBlock Origin. Chromium based browsers lack these capabilities, which is why they tend to rely on built in adblockers. Firefox should utilize the potential of its permissive extension support better.

Maybe built in adblock would be good for Firefox on iOS only, or in case of ditching MV2 entirely.

Yes I agree. Mullvad Browser has uBlock Origin from setup.

Brave and Opera etc. are based on Chromium. In August 2026 Google is going stop allowing browser extensions that block ads etc. which means money. I'm staying with Firefox and have no interest at all in browsers that are Chromium based.

Literally useless without an add blocker. There is being built in one on the desktop version, why can't something similar be applied to the mobile?
