There are many addons that try to do this but none work (or requires install of separate software).

Therefore, could you please add this feature as a builtin in Firefox?

I'm working in a large++ company where MS Edge is required for a lot of stuff.
But I daily use FF as my main browser.

Therefore, every time I get a corporate email (I read it in OWA), I want to be able to open various links in the email body in Edge.
Currently I have to right click on the link, choose "Copy link", open Edge and paste it into the address field.
This is quite tiresome.

Could you please add a new entry in the right click context menu?

There are several ways to solve this...
a) [Send to >]
When hoovering over, or clicking on this menu entry, you see your own SendTo apps.
(see "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo" or in short "shell:sendto")
I.e. send the link to whatever app you want, like Edge, Notepad, etc.

b) [Open link in <browser>]
In the FF settings you can set a default alternative "open link in" browser.
In Windows this should default to MS Edge.

c) [Open link in...]
This opens a window where you can pick an application from a list, or browse to a custom path.
I.e. you can open the link in notepad.exe if you want to.

Personally I would prefer option a), since it gives me the most flexibility. I can easily right click and send the link to any app of my choice without a lot of manual steps.

One way to achieve the SendTo in option a) could be to generate a temporary html-file, and then feed it to the SendTo app (Edge in my case).

redirect.html :
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; url='https://www.w3docs.com/'" />
</head>
<body>
<p>You are now redirected to <a href="https://www.w3docs.com/">https://www.w3docs.com/</a>.</p>
</body>
</html>

When sending this file to Edge, it will automatically redirect to the generated URL.

I think this idea is good and I would like Thunderbird to have a link pop-up selector of browsers.

I support this idea very much! It would also be helpful to be able to make an "open in message links with" drop down menu in the settings to set the default browser. Currently the only guaranteed way to actually get Tbird to change from the default browser that you had when you first installed it is to uninstall Tbird, delete your profile, and reinstall it from scratch. With so many people using multiple browsers and switching from one to another it just makes sense that Tbird would offer this as an option.

1. I just started using Tbird and in "settings" I set my default browser to Google, but when I click on a link in an email it takes me to Edge, which I do not prefer.  Very frustrating.  Pls tell me how to change this.

2.  I do not like the automatic double-spacing. Is there a way to change this?

3. There doesn't seem to be a way to highlight a word in composing an email, which I need to do often. Highlight seems to get the reader's attention better than underlining or using italics. Is there a way to add a highlight option?

Thanks.
