Fill passwords while not asking to save passwords

I'd like to have "Ask to save passwords" turned OFF but "Fill usernames and passwords automatically" turned ON so that the latter feature works as intended, while Firefox does not prompt me to save passwords. As far as I can tell, this is not possible in the current version.
