File clutter in Mozilla Profiles/storage/Default

FF stores files for each website I visit in Mozilla Profiles/storage/Default. After a day or two, there are MANY files and folders here. After a week or a month, the number of files and folders is enormous.

When I backup the FF profile, it can take quite a while. So before backing up, I erase these files and folder en masse. But that same Default folder has files and folders on extensions, so I can't just do a mass deletion. I have to pick and choose. 

Not that big a deal admittedly, but I wonder if there's a way to make backups easier. First, store the extension files in a folder separate from the other extension. Second, should there be a one-click deletion method for the website files and folders? If there is one, I haven't found it (and apologize for my shortcomings).
