Hi Firefox Team,
I really love the native full-page translation feature in Firefox. However, to make Firefox even more powerful for global communication, I would love to suggest adding an "Inline Input Translation Enhancement" feature.
Feature Description
Similar to DeepL's desktop integration, users should be able to type text into any text input area (like an email, chatbox, Whatsapp or form), press a specific keyboard shortcut, and have that text instantly replaced with its translation in a target language (e.g., typing English and instantly converting it to Spanish).
Why this is important
1. Seamless Productivity: Users don't need to open a separate tab or tool to copy-paste back and forth just to reply to an email or a message in another language.
2. Competitive Advantage: While Chrome and Edge focus heavily on viewing translations, Firefox can stand out by enhancing input translation and writing capabilities natively and privately.
It would be amazing to see this integrated into Firefox's native translation tools. Thank you for considering this feature!
