Extend time to respond to Thunderbird login failure popup

When attempting to send mail using an invalid/expired saved login password, error pop-up gives option to enter a different/new password.  Being a slow typist, by the time I enter the new password, Thunderbird has attempted to send again and a new error pop-up appears.  Can't close it and continue to use retry-with-new-password pop-up.  I end up having to remove the account and recreate it using the valid login password.  Need to extend time between failed send attempts to allow entry and saving of new password

Thunderbird opens a dialog asking for a password.  There it ends until you press the enter key is how I understand it to work.

Looks a lot like this, although this is a developer build I am testing, getting excited it has no calendar password to use.  That dialog just sits on my screen, for the whole day sometimes.
