Events in Thunderbird cannot add attachments

Today I was sending an appointment for my organization and needed to attach a couple of documents and ended up having to revert to Outlook.   Thunderbird attachments for Calendar appointments only allows webpage as attachment type.   Please add the ability to search documents to attach to Meetings or Task events.
