Events in Thunderbird cannot add attachments

Today I was sending an appointment for my organization and needed to attach a couple of documents and ended up having to revert to Outlook.   Thunderbird attachments for Calendar appointments only allows webpage as attachment type.   Please add the ability to search documents to attach to Meetings or Task events.

It's 2026 and we still can't attach documents or at least c'n'p images?

I am glad to see that there are other persons having difficulty with Thunderbird invites. It should be a primary functionality to be able to attach a document (NOT webpage) to an invite to distribute to meeting members. Thank you for having brought this up on this forum. I do hope that there can be a conclusion to this issue soon.
