enable functionality to read outlook .msg files and outlook .pst

The absense of a mail client on Linux able to natively read Microsoft .msg and .pst files would be a really great help. This is one of the most common issues on Linux and has not been addressed since decades.

The best way to convert Outlook MSG files by using this advance tool like FixVare MSG Converter.And support bulk conversion.And support all edition of Windows OS.

I just found that the PST format specification is documented to view freely in Microsoft's site, here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/openspecs/office_file_formats/ms-pst/141923d5-15ab-4ef1-a524-6dce7...

I think that would be a huge help for a programmer to implement a PST import capability in Thunderbird, that would be incredibly useful in office environments to be able to make the switch from MS Outlook to Thunderbird.

I use the ImportExportTools NG add-on, which allows exporting messages to MBOX format, although it would be nice if Thunderbird supported this natively. This applies not only to exporting but also to the bulk importing of messages—for instance, when backing up or restoring accounts.

I think this would be a really useful feature, especially for people moving from Outlook to Thunderbird. Having native support for both MSG and PST files would save a lot of time and avoid extra conversion steps.

Until something like this is added, one workaround is to convert MSG files into a format Thunderbird already supports. I tried GainTools MSG Converter for a similar situation and it handled the email content, attachments, and formatting properly. This software provides a preview to review the MSG file and also convert it into PST format that can be easily opened in Outlook.
