Easy access to recently saved attachments

I often want to save attachments in a specific location, but then also look at them. I’d love to have an accessible way to open the attachment I just saved, like in Firefox’s download menu or the pop-up Element offers. Currently, I need to navigate the whole path twice, once in Thunderbird’s save dialogue, and then again in my file manager.
