Drag & drop bookmarks by using "Bookmark this page" icon from url address field

Bookmarks are essential to the use of every browser. Simple management of bookmarks is one of the most important features. Drag & drop an url from the address field to the bookmarks bar or the bookmarks sidebar and into the choosen folder in a simple and direct way is a must. Firefox owns this feature. But only when using the site information or the site permissions icons sitting to the left of the url address.

Using the "Bookmark this page" icon from the right side of the url address would fare more intuitiv for drag & drop. Why is this not possible?
