Status: New idea

I like to have Firefox suggest stories to me but I'm frustrated by how many of them require a subscription. Dismissing them doesn't do anything. When I open up a story and it says 'You've read your last free article' and I've never read anything from them, its irritating. I don't want to constantly have someone attempting to push a subscription on me, either. I've considered just shutting off the stories because of it.

Making moves

I strongly support this idea. Firefox should not recommend articles that are effectively inaccessible unless the user pays for a subscription.

Seeing an attractive headline and cover, clicking on it, and immediately being confronted with a paywall is frustrating and makes the recommendation useless.

Please add an option to exclude paywalled content — or at least clearly label it before the user clicks. A “Recommended Story” should be something the user can actually read, not a teaser for a subscription.
