It would be great if there was a way to customize hotkeys.
Here's how I see it:
 * Have a about:hotkeys panel, with all actions listed, and already mapped shortcuts shown.
 * Whether these should be modifiable or not is up to the dev community, ideally they'd be.
 * When clicking on a hotkey field, ideally, there would be a capturing hotkey feature, or, before this, an AHK like syntax to define hotkeys (not as complex, something like: CTRL+H means this and MAJ+ALT+END means that...)

 * a restore to default button.
 * Done.

It can't be done with an extension because some function can't be accessed by extensions (I'm actually looking for a way to send tab to other device while browsing with TST.). Anyway, I believe this should boost productivity in a number of ways. You guys are devs, you know keyboards are faster than mice. 😛

edit: Corrected the typos, it's been bugging me for months now😅

It's even been proved possible to implement in a Firefox derived browser: https://docs.zen-browser.app/user-manual/shortcuts

Honestly, I'm baffled how long it takes to reintroduce a feature that already was part of Firefox in the past.

In general in any application that uses keyboard shortcuts you should be able to customize them.
Why? Different keyboard layouts.
It's a huge pain dealing with key combinations that only make sense on qwerty.

I am seriously losing my mind that this hasn't been (re)implemented in the past 3 years since this issue is open. The UX of Firefox is horrible because of it. Just give the user the full control of the keyboard shortcuts, like basically all other programs do it.
The vertical sidebar is unusable for me on because the keyboard shortcut Alt+Ctrl+Z does not even work. I'd already be satisfied if it worked at least. If I press Alt+Ctrl+Z with Firefox being the focused window on Windows 11, keyboard layout "English, United States (International)", I am getting this: æ
WTF æ

This feature is sorely needed on Firefox. The status quo lock-in on certain hardcoded combinations falls far short of Firefox's open source approach.

Commenting so that Firefox knows users are still waiting for this to be implemented. The fact that I cannot make CTRL + V = paste without formatting is mind-mindbogglingly frustrating.
